Combining local stones, corten iron portals, and wood framed windows with large glass panels, the architectural concept for this beautiful and unique house was to integrate the building within its natural surrounding, so that it would completely blend within the landscape.

The main challenge was transforming an old and poorly built chalet into a modern home, while respecting the original volume and footprint.

The house's only redeeming features were it's location and large footprint. The concept of the renovation was to integrate the house into nature making it disappear into the traditional dry stone walling

The use of stones on walls and terrace allowed the building to blend in completely with the environment

The colour of the side walls render was selected to tie in not only with the corten steel portals but also with the stones and surrounding trees

All the trees surrounding the house were kept and integrated into the design
